Quit a job to attend school full-time or continue to go part-time???
I've been working for an Insurance company for going on three years here in Los Angeles. Currently I am making $13.58 an hour, and dont see the pay going up to much during our annual review. Therefore, I am considering quitting to attend school full-time. Would this be a wise decision? I dont pay rent, have kids, or any major bills, etc....My employer reimbursts any classes leading to a Business degree. Should I continue to work full-time and gain experience while attending school part-time (3 classes a semester), or work part-time and go to school full-time? My currently employer will not allow part-time scheduling.
Interesting question. While a lot of people might think duh! Stay at your job and let them pay for your schooling, that's not necessarily your best option. It depends on what you want to do once you graduate.

If you plan to stay in Insurance, at your own company or another one, and move up in your field via the degree, then you can stay with your current employer, work, and let them pay for you to go to school part-time.

If, however, you hope to change industries or careers, you'd have a hard time changing to a new career while working in insurance, and without any new-career-related work experience. Thus your better option would be to make a break with your current career path. Quit your job. Go to school full time, and do at least one internship in your new field while you study, to show employers that you're committed to your new career path. Graduate, and get a job in your new career.

You'll need to chose the option that fits you best.
