Insurance, unitrin direct anyone have them for auto insurance, like dislike?
ok i have progressive but for a hundrered less i am get unitrin direct just was wondering anyone use them whats your opinion in them , anyone use to have them why did u switch , thanks ...i am happy with pregressive but for a hundrered dollars less a month would make me happier lol
We have been insured by both companies. Unitrin Direct has better rates and their sales staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, but their claims process is less than stellar.
Be prepared to fight for a fair market value (rather than an ACV of less than wholesale) if you total your car and have collision and comprehensive coverage. Otherwise, claims is comparable to most other direct insurers.
The upside is that their online services to manage your policy are excellent, compared to other insurers.
Progressive's customer service treated us fairly snottily...that's why we left. We also tried Geico (slightly better), and for God's sakes, avoid AIG at ALL COSTS.
Our policy is up for renewal in July, and we will very likely remain with Unitrin Direct.
when you go to any insurance company, the first thing they do is run your credit report then your driving record. You could be 77 and get a low quote based on your credit, or a high one based on your age. Sometimes it's just a crap shoot. Dr. B
